Charles Adiel Perry
1929 - 2024

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Charles Adiel Perry, age 95, of Maple Ridge BC. Charlie passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, at McKenney Creek Hospice. Charlie is predeceased by his wife of 65 years Shirley Perry (2017) and grandson Dillon Johnson (2022).  Survived by his children: Dave Perry (Judy Kaufman), Richard Perry and Wendy Johnson (Wayne Jones), Grandchildren: Hayden Johnson, Jayme Klassen (Kody) and Erik Jones, great grandchildren: Blake and Sierra Klassen, Avery and Elijah Daniels and Jaxson Steele.

One of seven children, Charlie was born in Balzac Alberta, but spent most of his younger years in Kamloops. After moving around BC Charlie and family settled in Maple Ridge in 1972.

Charlie was best known as the manager of Overwaitea Foods where he had been an employee and store manager for 37 years. Charlie retired in1982 from the Overwaitea in Valley Fair Shopping Mall but could still be seen packing customers groceries and visiting staff long after his retirement.

He loved to travel with his wife Shirley, Hawaii being their favorite place to spend time in the winter,

Charlie was also well known as a dedicated member of the Lions club, and other local groups, always willing to lend a helping hand. He touched many lives and leaves behind cherished memories as a father, a friend and member of his community.

His big smile, his infectious laugh, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all.

Word cannot express how deeply he was loved by all and he will be remembered for the kind, generous, giving, selfless individual he was.

Our family would like to thank the nurses and staff for their generous care at McKenney Creek hospice and the staff at Greystone Manor where Charlie was a resident for the last 6 ½ years.

In lieu of flowers donations to Ridge Meadows hospice society in remembrance of Charlie would be greatly appreciated.

A life lived to the fullest may you rest in peace
