  10. Dear Bill, Eveline and Family,

I was very saddened to learn of Sharon’s passing. We had just chatted on the phone days before and Sharon sounded so determined to make the best of the time she had left.

Sharon was indeed an incredible woman, wife, daughter, mother and friend. She had a very special spot in my heart after sharing our “same day” bone marrow transplants eleven years ago. I so looked forward to our occasional chats on the phone and our annual anniversary lunch at the Gillnetter’s Pub. During our lunches, the conversation inevitably ended up centering around what each of your family members was up to. Sharon was always so proud to talk about everyone special in her life, and your family’s love truly was her inspiration to continue to keep her health up.

It has been an honour for me to be able to call Sharon my leukemia buddy. My family and friends all know what an important role she played in my life and how her encouragement kept me going through the tough times. I know that Sharon is looking over you right now and her love will continue to give you strength during this incredibly challenging period.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all,

    Jan Fisher
