Marek “Mark” Malinowski

Marek K. “Mark” “Sammy Jack Bear” “Bike Man”

It is with great sadness that the family of Marek Malinowski announce his passing on April 4, 2019 in Maple Ridge, BC.
Predeceased by his parents Eugeniusz Malinowski and Bronislawa Kopciowska

Survived by His daughters, Ivy and Jennifer. Son in law Sacha. His granddaughter Olivia. Mother of his children, Lisa. His brothers and sister and their families.

Where do we start… he was a simple man to say the least. He loved music. ALL sorts of songs he would play air guitar, dance and sing along. He loved to build bikes – he may have even built you one. He was a collector of all the stuff but most passionate about old stamps. Anything old or antique. He loved his job where he worked for 32 years at Canadian Freightways. He was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan but also enjoyed watching the Vancouver Canucks. He loved playing cribbage all hours of the night at the local Tim Hortons with his buddies. He once made a scale model of Alexander Robinson Elementary school out of paper for his daughter’s science fair project. He loved the outdoors, loved fishing at Mike lake, salmon fishing on the Fraser, loved to drive and find the best spots to just relax and fish. We love you so much.

Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 2:00pm at Garden Hill Funeral Home, 11765 – 224th Street, Maple Ridge.

Mark was part of our family for a long time. He was one of a kind person, he marched to his own drum as they say. I always thought of him as having a gypsy soul. He was a person who did what he wanted and as long as I have known him he never changed that way about himself.Over the years sometimes he would ask me for goodies that I would bake for him. And I would cause I knew he really appreciated that. I will miss his quirkiness .Mark you leave behind a legacy of two beautiful and caring daughters Jen and Ivy. Who truly loved you even when things weren’t going well. And a ex although not together showed she cared and was always there when needed. And a beautiful granddaughter Olivia who takes your breath away with her little smile. And one last thing mark you where loved by people who cared about you. Now go rest free of pain and suffering. And you can fish all you want in heaven. Your ex sister in law Donna and her Husband Brian.❤️❤️❤️❤️

On behalf of the Crawford family, We would like to send our Love and Sympathy to Marek’s wife Lisa, his daughters Jennifer and Ivy, and the entire Malinowski family.

I worked side by side with Marek for many years at Canadian Freightways, and we became very good friends. He brought to all who knew him laughter, and made our days at work very enjoyable. You could always count on Marek to belt out a great song !
We spent many great times together away from work, and would talk about family, fishing, hockey and bikes. I still have two he built me and they are great bikes.

Sammy, I will miss you. You were a great friend. And we will all hang out with you someday.
Love and condolences from Kel, Laura and Mackenzie

  8. Mark or merek or mywreck…that’s what mark told me when I asked him his name when I first met him about 13 years ago at CF when I was working there..just shocked to hear of him leaving us like that…I use to be the night yard hostler and he knew I use to hate it and he would come down the stairs and start playing guitar with songs that I don’t even know the words..he was I should say Mr Funny man of CF….he was an amazing co-worker and I was glad to have met him and my dear friend you are in a very good place..RIP my friend till we meet again.

Marek was one of a kind. He was apart of my life for almost 13 years. When I had my first interview at Canadian freightways, my dad who was a driver at CF he and marek met me out front after my interview. I wasnt sure how to take marek at first cause he would say whatever that came to mind just to get a reaction. He would bust out singing whatever song. He loved his donairs camping finding and fixing bikes and would get so excited over junk to me but he would be all excited and fix it and then sell it at the cloverdale flea market. When I moved to the ghetto of coquitlam he gave me a bat and I still have it to this day. Marek was awesome at making people smile usually shake their heads then smile but it was marek. He will alway be In my memories. My condolences to the family. Huge hugs and love to everyone that knew him.
