Jean Mackenzie (Goodman)

In Memorial

April 29th, 1935 – January 23rd, 2011

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and best friend. Jean passed away at home Sunday, January 23rd, 2011.
Jean will be sadly missed by her daughter Kathy Back (Perry), grandchildren Ryan and Katrina, Salmon Arm. Son Don Mackenzie (Julie), grandchildren Kim and Kevin, Maple Ridge. Stepson David Mackenzie (Joan and Family), Qualicum Beach. Jean is also survived by her sisters Disa Brown, and Julie Zatorsky, Winnipeg. Ruby Cowan (Ervin), Chilliwack, and Margie Steven (Tom), Maple Ridge. Brother Don Goodman, Winnipeg, along with many nieces and nephews. She will also be dearly missed by close friends and all of her neighbors at the Legion Manor.
Jean worked for many years as a teacher’s assistant for School District 42 and enjoyed all the children and her co-workers. She was always kind and giving of her time to anyone that needed her. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband and soul mate Stuart Mackenzie in May 1996. She touched everyone who knew her and was always known for all the baked goodies that she would share with friends and relatives.
We will all miss you very much but know you are more comfortable now. Love you forever and always.

  3. Janice & Bruce Ruppel

Our deepest sympathy to all of the Mackenzie family. I was always so honoured to meet with Mrs. Mackenzie when she visited every year. She always graciously shared her wonderful Christmas baking, with all of the Pharmasave staff here in Salmon Arm. I especially loved her mini quiches and always took a few home.

Even though she wasn’t in the best of health, she never complained and was always hopeful she would get better.

Kathy, Mrs Mackenzie’s daughter is my dearest friend and I want her and her family to know that they are in our thoughts and prayers each day.

Kathy, your Mother’s love and memories will live in your heart and show in everything you do.

    Love Always.

    Bruce and Janice

  4. Gayle Scramstad nee Mackenzie

So sorry Don, Kathy and David for your loss. I remember your mom as a sweet woman always laughing and saying “Steuy” and calling my Dad “Buster” (David Mackenzie). Take care, Love Gayle

  5. Jean was an amazing, selfless lady who was filled with loving kindness for all. Jean was my teaching assistant many years ago in Kindergarten and she was loved by children and adults alike. Even then, Jean spoiled us all with her wonderful baking and her charitable spirit. She could always be counted on to go the extra mile for everyone and to make all she did for us seem her pleasure. I missed her when she retired and enjoyed seeing her from time to time over the years. My heartfelt condolences to her family at this sad time.
