Heather Karen Noort

Posted By obits On June 22, 2016 @ 11:12 am In Obituaries | 11 Comments

July 3, 1961 – June 7, 2016
A free spirit, Karen was benevolent, non-judgemental and not one to hold back when she thought an injustice had been done. Born in Montreal, Quebec, she grew up through the FLQ crisis, relocating with her family to B.C. in 1972. Karen always left an impression and will be fondly remembered by all for her spunkiness and humour. Karen leaves behind her father Stan (Margriet), Mother Phyllis, Sister Dianne (Gary), Brother Brad (Wendy) and extended family. The family sends a heart-felt thank you to the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital for their compassion and high level of care.

We are profoundly saddened, deeply touched by Karen’s passing.
Karen’s gentleness and kindness are how we will always hold her in our hearts. We learned much from Karen.
Luke 18:14 says it best…”For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted…”
Karen’s humility and love are a guiding light.
Our heart felt sympathies to all.

My Dear Karen,

Here is a poem for your 55th birthday, today…

it’s as if we are cut
from the same fabric.

we have a common thread
that won’t be broken—–
by people
or years
or distance.

Love, your sister, Dianne
