Payne, Daniel Lewis
August 7, 1947-April 15, 2017
Born in Chatham Ontario

It is with great sadness we share the passing of our husband, father and Papa; Daniel Lewis Payne. After a life well lived, Dan passed away peacefully on April 15, 2017. He leaves behind his cherished wife and best friend of 44 years Kelle, his daughters whom he adored,Terri and Jennifer (Steve) and his precious grandson Nixon. He will sadly be missed by his loving siblings, Maryellen, Richard and John, as well as many other relatives, nieces and nephews. Over the years, Dan has touched many lives by being someone that you could always trust and lean on during trying times. To many he was thought of as a second father or Papa and to others a faithful friend.

In Dan’s early years he worked as a paramedic, then later a custom wood craftsman and Mr. Mom to his girls. He spent many days cruising on his Honda Goldwing motorcycle, cheering for the Montreal Canadians and playing tennis with his brothers. Dan will be remembered as a man of quick wit, strong faith but most of all a loyal husband and dedicated father whose family always came first. In keeping with his wishes a celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Saturday May 6 th at 11:00am at Power to Change Ministries 20385-64 th Avenue, Langley B.C. We would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to all of our family and friends for your love and support during this difficult time. Our family also wishes to express our heartfelt appreciation for the kindness and excellent care Dan received from Dr. Shawn Tully and the other amazing physicians he had over the years.

If you wish to make a donation in Dan’s memory please consider Global Aid Network at www.globalaid.net, as this is a cause Dan was very passionate about.

  2. Dear Dan,

Wow you were always such a great friend. A very positive person even though your health was failing. So many people looked up to you for your words of wisdom. Our many lunch dates at White Spot will never be forgotten and neither will you. Your passion for people and your desire to make a difference in their lives was so evident. Thank you Dan for all your prayer support and your partnership with Globalaid. You have enabled me to travel all over Africa drilling wells and sharing the good news of Gods love, forgiveness, restoration and hope. I really really miss you!

    Love Darren

  3. Brother Dan, you will be greatly missed. We became friends while doing renovation work for Mililani Baptist Church. I had many fun days working with you. Always full of joy and loved the Lord. Thank you for your friendship. We will meet again in Glory. Praying for your family. Brother Von and family.

  4. Well Brother; although I love all of my family greatly & feel very close to them all, there is no one in this world I felt a closer bond to than you. It is a feeling I cannot put into words. Neither of us were ones to spend much time on the phone, facebook, email and such but I did my best to get out there every year that you weren’t able to come here. And once we got together it was an immediate connect. We didn’t do much well I was there; lots of times we’d be running around picking up groceries or stopping at your many doctor app’ts. But it didn’t matter as long as we were hanging out together I was thrilled. I stand in awe of they way you handled your health issues. No matter how many ailments or how much pain you were in you were a rock for me & so many others.

Thank you for being my big brother; there are none better!

  9. I was saddened to hear of Dan’s passing. To Rick and all his family I am so sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of working with Dan as a paramedic in London many years ago. Even then as I recall, he cheered for the wrong hockey team.

Rest in Peace my friend! I will catch up with you later.
