Audrey Kathleen van Kleeck

In Memorial

June 24, 1920 – September 30, 2013

Audrey passed into the arms of The Lord surrounded by her 3 daughters.
Predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Larry and son John.
Audrey is survived by her sister, Dorothy and sister in law, Patricia, daughters Judy (Paul) Trapp,
Jill (Brian) Romer, Jane (Jon) Gilbert, grandchildren; Kristina, Carly, Josh, Tyler, Ainsley, Peter, Jenna, and Emily and great grandchildren; Jayden, Taya, and Blake, and many nieces and nephews.
Audrey grew up in Aberdeen, Scotland and later served with the navy, as a WREN, during the Second World War. She married Larry after the war and moved to Canada as a war bride.
She devoted her life to Larry and her family, and later to helping the needy in the downtown east side.
She was devastated with the loss of Larry, 3 1/2 years ago but carried on with the love and support of her family. Through it all, she never lost her unique sense of humour.
She will be missed.
Don’t mourn me because I’m gone, celebrate that I have lived such a full and wonderful life.
A celebration of Audrey’s life will be held at 3:00pm, Tuesday, October 8th at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765 224th Street, Maple Ridge.
Expressions of sympathy can be made below.

  3. Dear Judy, Jill, Jane, and all the family,

Thinking of you and remembering your Mom…her wonderful smile, her hearty laugh, and her uplifting sense of fun. She was one of those people who I found inspiring, and it was such a treat to stop in on our way home from school and say hi to Audrey.
We miss our loved ones, but will always remember them….

  4. Dear Judy, Jill and family

My deepest condolences on the loss of your mother. I have such fond memories of her, especially summers at the cabin in Tsawwassen. She always seemed to be so full of life and laughter. Our old home movies include a wonderful clip of her dancing the jive with various partners at my parents’ party (I think it was their 25th wedding anniversary in 1956). Unfortunately there’s no sound so the music will remain a mystery but her enthusiasm and enjoyment is infectious.

  5. Dear Judy, Jill, Jane and families,
So sad and sorry to hear about your mom, my Aunt Aud’s passing – she will be missed that’s for sure. I loved her very much and I love you guys and wish I could be there with you at this time but will be with mom and be sharing the news with her that her sister is now very happy in heaven with Uncle Larry – what an amazing reunion that will be for an amazing pair. I will be spending the next few days with mom and hope you get a chance to call and chat with your Aunt Dot. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God be with you and provide His special comfort and strength.
    Love your cousin Rick

  6. Dear cousins and families,
We are very sad to hear of my Aunt Aud’s passing. On behalf of Sharon and daughters Jen and Tracey I want to share our thoughts and prayers with you. Aunt Aud – what a character! I cannot forget her laugh and her smile along with her quick wit. I feel so priviliged to have had her in my life. Seeing her together with my mother Dorothy many times over the years was always a treat – if you could understand them! We grieve her passing and wish you God’s strength as you go through the next days and weeks.
Love your cousin Rod and Family

  7. Jane & Jon, Jenna & Emily

So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing but know she is whole, complete, and safe in the arms of Jesus.

    Much Love,
