So sorry to hear about Sy. He became a great friend to us at Baillie House when we visited our parents (Len & Bea Birtch) Sy always had as special smile and greeting even on the days he wasn’t feeling well. He will be missed by all.

Wow, I am saddened to hear this news. My visits to Bill Laity will never be the same without Sy. He was a kind, thoughtful man with a great sense of humor who I will always remember and I know our (Bill’s) son Jesse will miss him deeply. I know he was Bill’s best buddy in the residence.

I am sorry to hear about Sy, and I am sure he will be sorely missed by a great number of people. His genuine compassion and gentle nature are what I’ll remember most about him. Sy always made me feel like I was in the presence of a great, but humble man, and I imagine that most people that knew him also admired him similarly.

Sy, was a shining beacon of Baillie house. I am a volunteer, and visit Bill Laity to this day. Sy’s room was right accross the hall. I found myself jumping from room to room, as both of these men had much to say. Be it; one of many victories, or the roads to them…. Sy was never lacking wisdom.

I still visit Bill, but he is not the same cheerful man. Sy was a “gentle giant”, if you know what I mean. Baillie house (as a whole) lost so much, when Sy passed.

“I long for those, who never knew you.” R.I.P. Condolences to all whom knew Sy.
