It is with great sadness that I read that Ron Briggs had passed away. On behalf of the MS Society, myself and people who Ron assisted I would like to extend our deepest sympathy. I had the opportunity to work with Ron for many years through the MS Society’s Volunteer Legal Advocacy Program(VLAP). Ron Briggs was instrumental in helping people living with MS fill out their CPP Disability application forms as well as Long Term Disability Forms. He truly made a difference in the lives of people with MS. Ron was an amazing individual who volunteered countless hours to help staff learn about navigating the forms and many more hours helping individuals fill out the forms. MS Society staff constantly referred people in need to Ron and he always responded. His calm, kind and encouraging style truly assisted those in need. For this, we are grateful. Ron helped to spearhead the VLAP and this program continues to assist people living with MS around BC. Ron was an amazing man and having the opportunity to learn and work with him was truly an honor.

So sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. He was a member of our Abbotsford MS Support Group for many years. He was a great guy and a great friend.

Madelene and Family – so very sorry to read about Ron’s passing. I’m not sure if you remember me. I used to babysit for you when you lived in Glenayre. I’ll always be thankful for the way Ron shaped my life. He hired me “just for the summer” at IAC in New Westminster the year I graduated from high school. Well I spent the rest of my career days in the finance business, most notably 34 years with Trans Canada Credit. I wish I could have told him thank you for giving me that opportunity. And I also remember sharing corned beef sandwiches and pickles with you in your back yard. Those were good days. Nice memories. Once again, so very sorry for your loss.
