Robert (Bob) Balfour

Our Family is deeply saddened to announce that Bob, born in Glasgow, Scotland, September 11, 1935, passed away at Ridge Meadows Hospital on August 18, 2010. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Kathy; his daughter Carol; Son grant; Daughter in law Erin; and his much loved grandchildren, Sean, Jordan, Scott, and Amy.

Bob worked for BC Hydro (Coquitlam office) for 25 years. On retiring, he spent many weekends enjoying his passion for soccer with his longtime buddies until his illness a few years ago. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and all of the staff at 2 West for the compassionate care Bob received during his time there. A drop-in Memorial Tea will be held on Wednesday, August 25th from 1:00 to 4:00pm at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel – 11765 224th street, Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

   We remember him being such a huge part of all of your lives.We always enjoyed attending many of Scotts birthday parties with all of your family We have very fond memories with all of you in the earlier years.

   Kathy and Family, I have just learned of Bob’s passing and am so sorry for your loss. I have many happy memories of Bob and our rides to work together. We had lots of giggles and laughs together in our carpool. He will be lovingly remembered.
