Condolence Messages

  1. My heart goes out to you Leanne, Dale and Vernon. Your dad was many things to me – first of all, the very best of a forever friend! Always had a smile that glowed like an aura around him that also enveloped everyone around him! And the biggest hugs! – those big long arms just wrapped all around you. I met him when we were just kids and he moved into the house that I was moving out of. He named his two puppies “Shake ‘n Bake” because they killed the neighbours two chickens. He got me a job in Burnaby at the same place he worked and we car pooled together. We hiked to and camped at Widgeon Lake and many canoe trips. I met Leanne when she first moved here and was amazed at what a great dad he was at that early age (and how much she looked like him) Pete was fondly known as Peetie and my kids called him Peetie-Peat. Of course they loved him too and their kids. He worked on the farm with my Dad and in construction with my ex. He took my Dad on the trip of a lifetime (the north end of Pitt Lake and up to the hot springs etc)and many more. He was a wealth of information! The most intelligent man I’ve ever known. He always seemed to show up or pop back into my life every couple of years and he was that special kind of friend that made you feel like you just talked to him yesterday but had so much to catch up on. He was very proud of his kids! We always shared pictures and stories. I haven’t seen him in about a year and was just saying that I need to find him again when I got the terrible news. He leaves a huge painful hole in my heart and again teaches me another valuable lesson in life ….. “keep in touch with the people that you love” because one day, this horrible news finds you with your mouth open and you realize……so much
Leanne, Dale and Vernon – you can call on me anytime for any reason 778-240-3204
