Paul Alexander Barber

In Memorial

July 3, 1921 – January 20, 2013

Paul passed away into the presence of his Lord the afternoon of January 20, 2013. He was a devoted husband and father. He was predeceased by his wife Velo in 2007 and his son Doug in 2005. He leaves his son David (Beth) in Australia, daughter Ruth (Terry), daughter in law Maria, 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and brother Herb in Winnipeg. Dad was born and raised in Owen Sound, Ontario, joined the RCAF where he met Velo; they were married in November 1944. After Bible School in Winnipeg, their travels took them to many locations though BC. Finally in 1958 they settled in Maple Ridge where Dad was Secretary Treasurer of the School District for many years. Dad was involved in many church building projects in the Maple Ridge area during his life time. He moved to Vancouver to be near his daughter after the passing of his wife. We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Sunrise Assisted Living in Vancouver where Dad enjoyed the best care possible; he loved the view from his 4th floor room.

  1. Paul was a superb Secretary Treasurer in Mission School District during my time as Superintendent of Schools. He was highly regarded by the School Trustees too. He devoted much of his private life to the Alliance Church where he will be missed. God bless Paul.

  2. Ruth Walther says:

This is a sad loss. My prayers are with you. May you rest in peace.
