Joseph Vari

January 15, 1937 – July 29, 2010

It is with deep sorrow & heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Joe.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, he immigrated to Canada during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, with his beautiful Bride. They began their new life in the B.C. Kootenays & worked on the CPR. Later moved to Vancouver & became a Floor-Carpet Layer (Union Loc 1541) Retired in the mid 90’s to enjoy traveling, cruising, and camping. But most of all passionate about gardening, a great home cooked meal along with a tasty glass of wine. We will fondly remember his dry sense of humour, quick wit & how he spoke his mind. Talented with his tools, gadgets, skills & ideas to fix almost anything.
Joe is predeceased by his wife Ilona (1980) Step son Jimmy (1975). He is lovingly & sadly missed by his daughter Lillian, Son-in-law Toss & sister Elizabeth. Anja & her entire family had a very special place in his heart, as well as his many friends.

Heartfelt Thanks to the Physicians & nurses at Ridge Meadows Hospital who cared for him in his last hours.

In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Hearts & Stroke Foundation of BC, Canadian Diabetes Association or to your charity of choice in his name. No funeral services as per his request. A family & friends style remembrance & celebration of his life is planned in the near future, in his backyard where he spent numerous hours watching the birds, animals, and tended the garden.
