In Memorial

Born August 28th, 1932 in Medicine Hat, AB, Fred passed away peacefully, April 11,, 2013 at Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster, BC, in the presence of his family. Fred silently fought a diverse number of ailments while never complaining, he maintained a sense of humour and an optimistic outlook on life.

During his lifetime, Fred raised a family primarily in the Lower Mainland and Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island. Fred was an exceptionally multi-talented, hard-working, dedicated, practical and proud man whose talents were limited only by his imagination. He spent many happy hours under the hoods of automobiles, raced cars, loved the outdoors; camping, boating, fishing, hunting with brother Cliff, worked on many home renos, always in the company of his favorite four legged friend.

As a young man he worked at many jobs such as collecting and selling papers with brother Hugh, worked as a ranch-hand and drove a taxi for the family business. Prior to his retirement, he spent many years as a heavy equipment operator adding dump trucks to his business model, working on many significant projects across this great Province.

Fred is predeceased by his parents Frank and Matilda and brother Charles of Nanaimo. Fred will be deeply missed and is survived by his brothers Hugh (Mary) UK, Clifford (Hilda) AB, wife Mary, children Laurie (Bob), Fred Jr., David, Grant (Anita), faithful and devoted companion Sheeba, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

THE BROKEN CHAIN

We little knew that morning. God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our heart to loose you, you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home,
You left us beautiful memories your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, you’re always at our side,
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

It is with deep regret and sorrow, that we acknowledge the passing of our father.

During his lifetime, dad overcame many obstacles but through hard work and determination created a life of great value and inspired those around him.

Born into a simpler but more difficult time, dad knew hard work from a young age and what he lacked in formal education he spent a life-time striving to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities to accomplish any task and through that, experienced the satisfaction of accomplishment that propelled him forward to the next project.

Dad was an honourable, humble, loyal, private and proud man, who cared deeply for family, friends, his faithful companion “Sheeba” and many other dedicated, loyal four-legged friends that went before him but met him as he left this earthly place.

Words cannot express our gratitude and appreciation for our life together and in particular and most recently, for the opportunity to share those final precious moments with him. We will continue to remember and pray for him, care deeply for him and all that he did to make our lives and us feel special, worthwhile, valued, and strive to live a life he would be proud of.

GOD BLESS YOU DAD!

As we loved you, so we miss you,
In our memory, you are near,
Loved, remembered, longed for always,
Bringing many a silent tear.

One year has passed …

We think of you with love today but that is nothing new,
We thought of you yesterday and will tomorrow too.

We think of you in silence but often speak your name,
All we have are memories and your picture in a frame.

The face that’s always with us, the voice we long to hear,
The smile we will remember, of the father we loved so dear.

The heartache of losing you, never goes away,
Remembering you is easy, we do it every day.

Memories are our keepsake, with which we’ll never part,
God has you in His keeping, we have you in our heart.

GOD BLESS YOU DAD! Untill we are together again…

We Honour You, On Father’s Day!

Dad, I Miss You

In Life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place
That no one could ever fill

It broke my heart to lose you
But you didn’t go alone
For part of me went with you
The day God took you home

Things will never be the same
And all though it hurts so bad
I will smile whenever I hear your name
And be proud you were my Dad.
– Georgy…

With all our love, gratitude and deep appreciation for being our Dad!
GOD BLESS YOU!

It is with deep regret and sorrow that we acknowledge the passing of a most beloved and devoted best (four legged) friend, Sheba. (1999 – 2014)

TREASURED FRIEND ~ SHEBA

We lost your treasured friend today,
The beautiful dog who used lay
Her gentle head upon your knee,
And share her silent thoughts with you.

She’ll come no longer to our call,
Retrieve no more her favourite ball.
A voice far greater than our own,
Has called her to His golden throne.

Although our eyes are filled with tears,
We thank Him for the happy years,
He let her spend with this family,
And for her love and loyalty.

~ Author unknown

Our thoughts and prayers that God Bless Her and keep her surrounded by His infinite Love, in honour of a dedicated and devoted life, with this family.

(Dad, since your passing, we have loved and cared for Sheba the best we could but she never stopped looking for you and waiting for your return. I pray you are together, again.)

GOD BLESS YOU BOTH!
