David Angus (Gus) Pottie

1940 – 2015
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Dec.25, 2015 with his family by his side after a lengthy battle with Lewy Bodies Dementia.
Predeceased by his father, David Y.S. 1969; mother, Mary T. (Molly) 1982; sister, Sheena Froment 2015.
Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gale Viola; 3 children, Lenette Charlton(Scott), Lisa Lynum (Wayne Edens), David Byron (Laura); 9 grandchildren, Ashley Hughes(James), Daniel Charlton (Carley), Kelsey Ferguson (Derek), Jaclyn Charlton, Lindsay Lynum, Brad Lynum, Tyson Pottie, Kyle Pottie, Trey Pottie and 6 Great Grandchildren; his precious dog Missy who was by his side throughout his journey.
Born in Salmon Arm, B.C. David’s family moved to Haney (Maple Ridge) in 1944 where he grew up, married Gale and they raised their 3 children.
David worked for Canadian Kenworth Trucks 1965 – 1982 then as a supervisor with Canada Post for the next 22 years retiring in 2004. In semi – retirement he worked as a Fuel Bargeman in Van. Harbour for ITB which he enjoyed immensely. David was a dedicated family man and particularly enjoyed working in his yard and garden which he took great pride in as he did in everything he endeavored to do in his life. He was an inspiration to us all.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Delta View L.E.C. who cared for David especially the nurses and care givers of E.P.
Service to be held Saturday January 9th at 11, at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765 224th Street, Maple Ridge, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of BC would be appreciated.

I just found out today about the passing of Angus, I heard from Pauline (Hannah); I went to school with Angus and had a heart felt crush on him for a few years…so sorry to hear the news, but from the sounds of it he had a wonderous and fulfilled life. Angus was a very special person my life, we went through high school together. We would visit with him and Gale at school reunions and knew the most important things in his life was his family. Sent with love to you Gale and your family.
