Passed away peacefully at 6 a.m. January 3rd, 2012 from the complications of pneumonia. He was born September 1, 1920 to parents Oscar and Pauline Hesla, the oldest of three happy siblings. He was predeceased by sister Grace and nephew Bruce. He is survived by son Alan, brother Erling and nephews Erik, Paul, Doug and Kaare. He is also survived by niece Karen. Orval was Past Master at King Soloman/ Union Lodge in New Westminster and a member for over 60 years. He was also a member of Prince David Lodge in Maple Ridge and district deputy of Grand Lodge. He drove the cancer car for many years in the lower mainland. He was well looked after by Dr. D. Chapman and the dedicated staff at Holyrood Manor. Thank you all. A Memorial will be held at the Highway Church at 21746 Lougheed Hwy on February 11 at 11:00 am.

Audrey was born in Saskatoon Saskatchewan on June 29, 1938. She passed away peacefully at Ridge Meadows Hospital in Maple Ridge on December 14, 2011. A Memorial Service will be held at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765 – 224th Street, Maple Ridge on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Jennie Ivy Rowell passed away peacefully on January 10, 2012 at 91 years of age. Jennie and her husband Howard (predeceased) moved from Consort, Alberta to Hammond in 1947 and lived in the Maple Ridge area throughout their lives.
Jennie and Howard raised six children; Dale, Carol, Allan, Howie, Cheryl, and Kelly. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jennie worked for a number of years at Woodland’s School, Riverview Hospital and with the Maple Ridge Homemakers.
She was an active and fun-loving person and leaves the family with many good memories.
Jennie was surrounded by her loving family during her final days. At her request there will be no service held.

She is survived by; brother John Panjer and family in Calgary, Alberta, daughter Jeannine Whitnum, granddaughters; Tonya Szabo and Alicia Whitnum, and great-granddaughters Jordan and Hannah Donnelly.
Alice worked as a fashion designer in London, England after the Second World War. She moved to Canada in 1959 and continued to work in the fashion industry until retirement. Her family cannot find the words to say how much she will be missed, she will always be known for her strength and big heart. Anyone who ever met her will never forget her strolling through town with her big fancy hat and flair for fashion, a true diva like no other. We love you Nana, always a star in our hearts.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765 – 224th St, Maple Ridge.

Lily passed away peacefully December 31st at Cartier House in Coquitlam. She is predeceased by her husband Bill. Lily will be greatly missed by her daughter Sharon Cooper, son Roger Cooper (Loretta), granddaughters Louise Cooper (Chris) and Emily Dick (Michael), grandson Ward Cooper and the extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at St George’s Anglican Church, 23500 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge at 2pm January 13. Denise Catherine Blais passed away in Maple Ridge on the evening of Saturday, December 31, 2011. Denise is survived by her children, Denise, Robbie, Carolyn (Ian), Darren, and the loves of her life, her grandchildren Daniel, Johnathan, Treanna, Kayleen, Tyler, Shane, great-granddaughter Aryena and siblings, Darryl, Jeannine, Lorraine.
