Robert “Bob” Chesley Babcock

In Memorial

Bob Babcock passed away suddenly and unexpectedly near his home at Surrey Lake, BC. Predeceased by his father Arthur (Ches) Babcock, survived by his mother Sally Babcock, Sisters Debbie (Jim), Trudy and Donna (Ron), his nieces Cari (Kyler) and Sheri (Leah) and Great-Niece Sydney, as well as his beloved dogs, Grace and Murphy. Bob had worked throughout BC as a Paramedic, most recently in Kamloops as a Critical Care Paramedic. Bob was passionate about paramedicine and patient care, and although he confused many with his tough exterior, those who knew Bob well know he was all heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel (11765 – 224th Street, Maple Ridge) on Thursday, December 8th, 2011 at 1pm. Donations can be made in Bob’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the SPCA.

Condolence Messages

  1. ON BEHALF OF MYSELF AND THE KAMLOOPS & DISTRICT FISH & GAME ASSOCIATION, I OFFER SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY OF BOB BABCOCK. IT WAS, INDEED, A SHOCK TO LEARN OF HIS SUDDEN AND UNTIMELY PASSING.

ALTHOUGH BOB APPEARED A BIT “CRUSTY” AT FIRST APPEARANCE, WE KNEW HIM AS A TRULY GENEROUS MAN WITH A STRONG CONSERVATION ETHIC.

HE WAS A FRIEND TO, AND SUPPORTER OF, OUR FISH AND GAME CLUB AND REGULARLY DONATED A STAY AT THE RESORT FOR AUCTION AT OUR ANNUAL FUND-RAISERS FOR OUR CONSERVATION PROJECTS.

AND, HE WAS PASSIONATE ABOUT SURREY (“HIS”) LAKE.

I AM PROUD TO HAVE KNOWN BOB AND I KNOW THAT I ALSO SPEAK FOR OUR CLUB WHEN I SAY THAT I WILL MISS HIM.

    DON TRETHEWEY, PRESIDENT,
KAMLOOPS& DISTRICT FISH & GAME ASSOCIATION
