Ernest Alfred Hannah

Ernie was born on April 30, 1926 in Smiths Falls, ON and died peacefully on July 22, 2010 at Ridge Meadows Hospital, in Maple Ridge, B.C. He is predeceased by his parents Mable (Botham) Hannah and Alfred Hannah and by his sisters Edith, Lorraine and Fern and wives Rita Levasseur and Freda Lamb.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters Kathleen (Bernard) Webster and Deborah (David) Steele, grandchildren Ted, Tammy, Christopher and Cameron, great-grandchildren Breanna and Thomas, as well as his friends.
Ernie has been a resident of Maple Ridge since 1983. He had been a member of the Kiwanis Club, The Elks and a member of the Salvation Army since 1975. He worked for Canadian Pacific for more than 45 years, retiring in 1986 from his job as a Carman.
A Memorial Service for Ernie will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765 – 224th Street, in Maple Ridge.
Thanks to the Physicians and Nurses at Ridge Meadows Hospital who cared for Ernie in his last hours. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army, The Parkinson’s Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

On July 18, 2010 Leah passed away: She was the light in our family’s life and is deeply missed by us all- Larry, her beloved husband, Malorie, Jordan, Samantha and Nicole,the children she loved and cherished. Linda Yerex- (predeceased by her father Mike) her mother, sisters, Darlene (Doug) Medhurst, Chis, Nick and Mike, Michelle (Rick) Desjarlais, Brandyn and Brett. Also uncles, aunts and cousins.
Being with family and friends was the most important part of Leah’s life, She supported her community, her church and Job’s Daughters with her gift of laughter and getting things done.
A celebration of life will take place at St. Andrew’s Haney United Church (corner of 222nd Street and Dewdney Trunk Road) at 2pm, Saturday July 24th. Mizpah.

Severina passed away peacefully in Ridge Meadows Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Myron, in 2001. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 1:00 pm at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 22587 – 121st Avenue, Maple Ridge. Father Richard Au Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Maple Ridge Cemetery.

passed away peacefully on July 11, 2010 in her sleep at her home, the Maple Ridge Seniors Village, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Shevlin Manitoba on April 10, 1930. She is survived by her three brothers, Alfred (Isobel) Shipalesky of Stoney Plain, Alberta; Walter Shipalesky of Powell River, BC; Irwin (Lillian) Shipalesky of Barriere, BC; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond. We would like to thank everyone at the Golden Ears Retirement Center for all the care you gave to Lena. She is and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

passed on to her reward of rest and eternal peace, on Tuesday, July 13th at Ridge Meadows Hospital. She was 72 years. She will be forever loved and missed by Norm, her husband of 54 years, her daughter, Dawne Bremner (Dan), and her sons, David (Pattie), and Craig. Sherry is also survived by her six grandchildren: Tyler and Lindsay Bremner; Kirsten(Kyle), Danice(Jamie), Gabrielle, Dominique, and great-granddaughter, Baby Leah(born July 16th to Danice & Jamie) At Sherry’s request, there will be no service.
A reception for family and friends will be held on August 13th, 2010 from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm in the Fireside Room at the Meadow Gardens Golf Club , 19675 Meadow Gardens Way in Pitt Meadows.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Creekside Adult Day Program, c/o Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation would be greatly apprectiated. Sherry’s family want to thank the staff and volunteers at the Creekside Adult Day Program, and the staff of Ridge Meadows Hospital PATH Unit for their dedication to make the past many months, as comfortable as possible for Sherry, as well as her family . Francis (Frank) Green

With family by his side, Frank passed away peacefully on July 9, 2010 at the age of 96. He is predeceased by his wife Dorothy and survived by his daughter Vicki (Gene); grandchildren: Cindy (Troy), Lori (Brian) and great-grandchildren: Jake, Sam, Joely and Kade. Up to the day he became ill, Frank kept busy with his twice daily workout at Champion Athletic Club followed by a coffee and visit with friends at Bobby Sox. Frank was a friend to many and will be missed dearly. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at Alouette Manor for their special care and support. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at the Maple Ridge Legion, 12101 224th Street, lower level, on Saturday, July 24 beginning at 11am. We welcome you to come and share your memories of Frank. Eila T. Male (nee Rauma)

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 7, 2010 after a lengthy illness, Eila was born in Toronto, Ontario on November 7, 1932. The only daughter of Ada and Walter Rauma, Eila settled with her parents in the Finnish community of Websters Corners in 1936. Eila is survived by her loving family: husband, Derek, daughters Victoria (Brian), Lori (Bryan), Andrea (Bernie), and grandchildren Jason, Michael and Jasmine, and many relatives in Finland. During her life, Eila donated to various worthy causes related to the arts, health, education, peace, poverty and justice. She volunteered on numerous committees and organizations. Throughout her adult life, Eila was a rich resource for local writers and academics interested in the Canadian/Finnish culture. In 2008, her vast historical knowledge was recognized when she was invited by academics at UBC to provide a speech on Finnish settlement in Canada and British Columbia. Eila enjoyed all kinds of music. She loved to dance, travel, read and spend time with family and friends. For her, family was ‘number one’. She was loving, kind, compassionate, and in times of adversity continued to display an engaging sense of humour. Her quest for knowledge never ceased. She is, and will be, deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of Eila’s life will take place on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Meadow Gardens, 19675 Meadow Gardens Way, Pitt Meadows. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Doreen, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. After a strong, courageous fight Sharon passed away peacefully Thursday morning with family at her side. Sharon leaves to mourn her husband Bill, daughter Susanne, sons Steve and Kevin and his wife Ev. Her grandchildren; Katie, Krissy, Jordan, Brendan, Cody and Amy. Sharon was predeceased by her father Ro, and leaves to mourn her mother Eveline, sister Sue and brother Tom; many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Sharon lived almost all of her life in Maple Ridge, and nothing was more important to her than her family. She took care of all of us and loved us so much. We will miss her every day. Donations in Sharon’s memory to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society or to the Cancer Society would be appreciated. Thank you to the wonderful care at VGH from the nurses on CP6 and 15th floor. Memorial Service will be held Sunday July 11th at 12:30 PM at Burnett Fellowship Baptist Church 20639- 123 Ave. Maple Ridge .
