We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and friend after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by husband Michael, daughter Jessica and son Jeffery (Kristina), as well as many other loving family members. She is predeceased by her parents Keith and Emma (Sundstrom) Hansen, brother Wade and sister Joanne Moore.
Celebration of Life
The Celebration of Life is to be held March 19 in Osoyoos at the LDS church at 1:00 p.m., followed by the graveside service at the Osoyoos cemetery at 2:00 p.m. In addition, a Celebration of Life is to be held at 2:00 p.m. at Branch 88 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Maple Ridge March 28. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice, in memory of her name.

Carole Wilma passed away peacefully in her sleep at McKenney Creek Hospice on March 14, 2010 at age 68 years. Survived by her husband of nearly 50 years John. Children Teresa (Pat), Lori (Ron), 3 grandchildren Christopher, Briony (David), and Cavin, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life
A Celebration of her life will be held Friday March 19th at 2PM at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel 11765-224th Street Maple Ridge.

The Travel Plan takes care of all the details and associated costs.
Complete Coverage with Attention to Detail
When someone covered by the FamilySide Worldwide Travel Assistance Plan dies 100 kilometers or more away from home, one toll-free phone call is all that is needed to being the process of returning the deceased to their home. Travel Plan associates are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will immediately begin notifying the appropriate parties necessary for a quick and safe return. You will be notified as well, so that you can being working directly with the family regarding funeral arrangements. Travel Plan services include the following:
-Location of a funeral home in the city where the death occurs and payment for transporting the body to the selected firm
-Coordination of specific body preparation based on teh stated wishes of the deceased or the person responsible for funeral arrangements
-Coverage of all costs for preparation and transportation of the body to the funeral home of choice in the city were the funeral will take place
-Processing the death certificate
-Arrrangements and coverage of all costs incurred for paperwork required if death occurs in a foreign country

Passed away suddenly on March 8, 2010. Amanda was a loving daughter, caring sister, a special niece, and a wonderful friend. She will be dearly missed by her parents, Dale and Barbara, and by her sisters, Jennifer and Cassandra. She will also be missed by her many Aunts and Uncles, cousins and many friends. She touched the lives of so many people around her. Her free spirit, enormous heart, forgiving nature and beautiful smile were just some of the wonderful qualities she was blessed with. During her short time here on earth she embraced life to the fullest. She will never be forgotten.

Gerald (Gerry) Thomas Trerise

On Saturday, March 6th, 2010 Gerry Trerise of Maple Ridge suddenly but peacefully passed away. He will be forever remembered by his wife Betty of 10 years, and his three children, Jim (Jackie), Jacki (Doug), Lesley (Bob), his grandchildren, extended family and his many friends.
Gerry was a long term resident of Maple Ridge and extremely proud of his community. He owned and operated Maple Ridge Bus Service for many years, served several terms as both alderman and mayor and was active in many committees, organizations and volunteer groups in Maple Ridge. Prior to meeting Betty, Gerry was married to Bridget for 35 years. (Bridget died in 1998). During that time, in addition to raising their family and their strong community involvement, the two of them traveled the world with Gerry’s employer Evergreen Tours. Gerry’s life was full!
He will be forever remembered, forever loved and greatly missed by all.
A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held on Saturday April 3rd, 2010 at
11 AM at St. Andrews Haney United Church – 22165 Dewdney Trunk Rd., Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to either BCCA or the Maple Ridge Hospital Foundation in Gerry’s name.
Laurie Cowan

After a short battle with cancer, Laurie passed away peacefully in his 75th year at the McKenney Creek Hospice in Maple Ridge on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Margarete and his children David (Brenda), Ian (Patricia) and Norman (Deanna) as well as his grandchildren Megan and Melanie, Caitlin, Benjamin, Gabrielle, Mary-Beth, John, Thomas and James and Victoria and Nicholas. He will also be missed by his brother Teddy (Liz), nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Laurie was a member of both the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Canadian Security Intelligence Service with a career spanning 34 years. Laurie joined the RCMP on June 18th, 1956. He was posted to various detachments within Canada including Toronto, Hamilton, Belleville and HQ Ottawa in 1967 where he transferred to the RCMP Foreign Services. As a member of Foreign Services he was posted to: Sydney, Australia; Nairobi, Kenya; Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago as well as relief duties in Hong Kong; Manila, Philippines and London, England. On July 15th, 1984, Laurie joined CSIS and continued his duty as a Foreign Service Officer with his final posting in Stockholm, Sweden until his retirement in August 1989 when he and Margarete retired to Maple Ridge, B.C. Laurie’s passion for golfing was followed closely by his gardening which was apparent to anyone who drove past their home. Cremation has taken place and a family celebration of Laurie’s life will be held at a later date. Donations to The Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. A special thanks to the staff at the Ridge Meadows Hospital 2 West and the McKenney Creek Hospice for the care given to Laurie.

After a long illness Violet Margaret Sampson 85, passed away
quietly on March 1, 2010 at Ridge Meadows Hospital. Vi was born in
Winnipeg and resided there with her husband and 5 children until
1968 when they moved to Burnaby BC. Vi was predeceased by her
beloved husband Patrick and grandson Jason, her sister Joy and
brothers Mike and Gus. Violet is survived by her sister Ruby, her children Patsey
Sampson, Carol Baker (Rick), Jim Sampson, Terry Vallieres
(Daniel), Tim Sampson (Anita), her 10 grandsons. James
Sampson (Eva), Rob Baker(Natalie), Randy Baker (Laura), Shane Sampson
(Taryl), Chris Sampson, Dan Vallieres (Becky), Joe Vallieres,
Jon Vallieres (Ashley), Stephen Vallieres, Jared Vallieres and
16 great grandchildren.The family would like to thank the staff at Ridge Meadows
Hospital for their kind and gentle care of our Mother. A
memorial service is to be held on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010.
