Passed away peacefully at Ridge Meadows Hospital with loving family by his side – wife Yvette, children Bill (Leigh), Larry (Carol) and Elaine (Steve). He will also be missed by his 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Celebration of Life to be held Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Bill’s. No flowers by request. Donations to the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

Ilona passed away in Baillie House in Maple Ridge on January 11, 2010 at the age of 96 years .She is predeceased by her husband Gyula. She is survived by her loving family; daughter Marta(Stephen) Berghold; 2 grandchildren Judy(Maurice) and Kathy(Robert); 4 great grandchildren Kurtis, Samantha, Amanda, and Christine. Prayers will be held 7 PM Wednesday January 13th at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel 11765-224th Street Maple Ridge. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday January 14th at 1PM at Our Lady of Hungary Parish 1810 East 7th Ave. Vancouver, Interment to follow in Ocean View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Our Lady of Hungary Church would be appreciated.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Pietruczyk. Michael was born in Kobryn, Poland on November 16th, 1920. He served as a long-time member of the Polish and British Military before immigrating to Canada in 1955, where he has been a long-time resident of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows ever since. Michael leaves to mourn three sisters; Olga Venturis, Sophia Michasiuk, and Nina Holman (Australia), as well as many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, January 18th, 2010 at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765 224th Street, Maple Ridge.

Loretta Bowyer

Loretta (Bubs) Bowyer passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Holyrood Manor in Haney at the age of 76. She was predeceased by her dear parents, Louis and Marguerite Wild and younger brother, Bernie. Loretta was kind, generous and fun-loving and she celebrated life everyday. She loved to entertain friends and family in her home and everyone was made to feel welcome. Loretta also loved to sing and would often break into song with others soon following along. It was part of her unique charm. She will be dearly missed by all who had the good fortune to know her and share in her life. Loretta will be forever in the hearts of her husband, Bob, children, Mike(June), Michelle(Melissa), Louis(Linda), Kaleen(Barb) and her five adoring grandchildren, Kevin(Diane) , Steven, Laura, Aaron, and Kelsey, as well as her dear sisters, Marlene(Jack) Cameron, Rochelle(Dick) Bodnarchuk and brother, Lorne Wild. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Holyrood Manor who so gently cared for Loretta in the last years of her life, and Father Abundo who went above and beyond in Loretta’s final days. A prayer service will take place on January 7, 2010 at 6 pm and Funeral Mass will be celebrated on January 8, 2010 at 11 am, both to be held at St. Luke’s Parish, 20285 Dewdney Trunk Rd, Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of B.C. in Loretta’s name would be appreciated.
